Established in 1998, we are an artisan bakery specializing in European style breads and pastries. We have since expanded our offerings to include our kitchen’s sandwiches, soups, salads and flatbreads, as well as an extensive array of locally-sourced provisions and retail offerings.

Our bakers handcraft over a thousand loaves of artisan bread every week. Each loaf takes up to 48 hours to produce, allowing it to develop the flavor, crust and crumb that Blue Dog bread is known for. Our Head Baker has over 21 years of experience, and it shows.
In addition to being available in-house at our bakery in Crescent Hill, our breads are also found in several retail locations throughout Louisville, and are featured in many restaurants and fine dining establishments in both Louisville and Indianapolis.

& Specialty Desserts
Our pastry selection is broad, and ranges from familiar favorites, such as muffins, scones, and cookies, to traditional European pâtisseries, including French macarons and a rotating array of seasonal and specialty desserts. Our croissants, pains au chocolat, and other laminated pastries are made using high-quality European style butter, and attest to the magical combination of select ingredients and skilled craftsmanship.

Dining
Our table service is café-style: orders may be placed at the counter, and tables are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, both in our dining room, and our outdoor patio. Online ordering is also available for those wishing to place carryout orders ahead of time.
